Corrie was our "can do" dog! He went everywhere with us, and would do whatever we asked of him: "Can do, Mom!"...climbing, hiking, swimming! Until he got older (here he is about 12, old for a German Shepherd), and we were happy just to have him along, and he was happy just to rest nearby and keep tabs on us.
The picture is in the red rock canyons of the San Rafael Swell in the middle of Utah. A spectacular place to explore! There is a series of slot canyons great for hiking near Goblin Valley State Park (itself really photogenic!), including Little Wildhorse, Bell Canyon, Crack Canyon and Chute Canyon.

About this shot. Shot on Kodacolor 100, scanned in from the negative using Nikon Coolscan 5000, superfine scan setting. I normally crop it tighter (e.g., reducing the top and right in this shot), but I liked the dark shadows at the top right as a frame.
I still need to learn how to resize it while minimizing grain. The original scan is nice and smooth. I resize in paintshop pro using smart resize, sharpen before resizing and use unsharp mask after resizing. Not as smooth as I would like when I reduce it in size.
